Your donations support several annual programs in our region. Our goal is to identify which quality programs can scale over a diverse geography and which programs target students at the time when research shows reading fluency is most important to their future success.

Seattle Public Library Global Reading Challenge (March)

The Global Reading Challenge is a Battle of the Books program for 4th and 5th graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools. The program encourages children to have fun and enjoy reading. After reading 10 books, children take part in a “Quiz Bowl” game to determine the winner for the city of Seattle.

 

Sno-Isle Third Grade Reading Challenge (March)

The Sno-Isle Third Grade Reading Challenge is a literary trivia program for students enrolled in public schools throughout Snohomish and Island counties.

 

Books & Beers (April)

Join us as we raise a glass to our supporters and the librarians in the community. In addition to great local beer and guest food truck, expect exciting raffles to support NWLF and stories of our impact.

 

Give BIG Seattle (May)

Seattle Foundation annually presents GiveBIG, a 24-hour online  giving event to raise funds for area nonprofit organizations. Northwest Literacy Foundation has been proud to participate in this event for many years and has been excited to see its growth in the community.

 

Seahawks Tailgates (Oct-Dec)

NWLF benefits when you come down to the Alaska Airlines Hometown Hangar before Seahawks home games. Listen to great live music, have a drink, and learn about how we help area schools.
